As the second largest onshore natural gas producer in the Netherlands, Vermilion has an extensive asset base throughout the country. We operate over 100 wells on some 65 well site locations in the Netherlands across a number of gas fields. The average depth our wells is between 2,200 and 2,500 meters. Almost all of our natural gas is processed at one our four main treatment centers before being delivered to the Dutch natural gas grid.

We also operate two single field treatment facilities, Brakel and Wijk en Aalburg, both commissioned in 2010.
Our infrastructure includes approximately 320km of pipeline which ranges in diameter from 3” to 20”.
Vermilion’s assets have been producing natural gas since 1971 when production commenced from the Leeuwarden area via the Garijp Gas Treatment Center. Cumulative production from our asset base from 1971 through 2016 is approximately 45 billion Nm3.
